Focus/Break

Rich Rich

Our latest seed is here. Focus/Break is a lightweight macOS menubar timer designed to help you stay focused using the Pomodoro technique.

The idea is simple: work in focused sessions, take regular breaks, and keep track of how your day is going — all from a tiny timer in your menubar.

How it works

Focus/Break lives in your macOS menubar. Start a focus session and a countdown timer appears. When the session ends, you get a gentle nudge to take a break. During breaks, a fullscreen overlay shows wellness reminders — stretch, hydrate, rest your eyes — before you dive back in.

You can configure focus sessions from 1 to 120 minutes and breaks from 1 to 60 minutes. The defaults are the classic 25/5 Pomodoro split.

Tracking your day

A daily stats view shows your focus percentage, total focus time, and average session length. A colour-coded day bar gives you a visual timeline of your focus and break sessions throughout the day. Everything resets at midnight so you start each day fresh.

No distractions

Focus/Break runs as a menubar-only app — no dock icon, no windows cluttering your workspace. It uses zero external dependencies and runs entirely on system frameworks. It’s the kind of tool that stays out of your way until you need it.
